Last week, NACoA announced the loss of Sis Wenger, a tireless advocate who was the face and voice for NACoA and the children impacted by parental substance use. She was to many a friend, mentor, and cheerleader, helping prepare many to join the charge to help children and families find the hope and help they so desperately need. Her passion and determination was both attractive and contagious, often inspiring innovative ways to educate community partners, create new programs, and implement new measures to help ensure that communities remember the children. NACoA board member Jason Schwartz provides an overview of her impact and achievement in the blog Remembering Sis Wenger: a tireless voice for children impacted by addiction.
To continue her vision and legacy, the Sis Wenger Memorial Fund will continue to guide and inspire future generations to support children and families and develop programming for healing and healthier living.
