If you’re looking for an alternate way to support NACOA , you can also consider the following options:

Are you paying premiums for a life insurance policy you no longer need? Consider donating it to NACoA. Utilizing a well-established concept known as life settlements, donated life insurance policies may be sold for the policy’s true market value. Those proceeds, in turn, can be reallocated to the initiatives and goals that our organization wishes to accomplish on behalf of those we serve.

NACoA’s 2024 Wishlist

Through your efforts, your generosity can help NACoA accomplish an ambitious list of goals for 2024!

An online, On-Demand training experience and access to our comprehensive CF! curriculum to be developed and supported on NACoA’s Learning Management System. This would grant access to all content and downloadable forms, surveys and measurement tools at any time in the most time-sensitive, responsive platform for busy facilitators. With busy schedules at agencies and organizations, this eliminates the challenge and burden of coordinating teams to be together and one time, and instead individuals to learn at their own pace and timeframe.  Assures greater input and outcomes data for NACoA to continue to track progress, impact, and outcomes for this program.

NACoA has had similar branding for 40 years.  While a testament to the incredible work NACoA as accomplished, we look forward to updating  awareness and current branding strategies.  Our website requires a major overhaul to support our Learning Management system and the new curriculum we are developing, as well as support for our expanding webinar platform, blog/vlog library, and provide a history archive.

Videos that focus on the impact of addiction on children are quite rare. What is currently being used with programs are still on point, but are very dated. To be most effective – especially for materials to be used when working with kids and teenagers – these videos require remakes/updates.

Each year, NACoA identifies key programs that warrant updates and insertion of new evidence to maintain accuracy and relevance of our content bank provided to our constituents.  These updates are costly to obtain the newest information and to compensate professionals for their time to create, modify and review new curriculum pieces.

Maintaining and strengthening NACoA’s learning management system to serve our organizations facilitating our programs requires significant expertise. This platform is essential to deliver our ongoing curriculum and grow educational opportunities to other professionals who engage with children every day.

Addiction affects all communities and populations, so diversifying materials to truly support all children and families impacted by the disease is paramount. Providing more curriculum and materials in Spanish is the priority. But further, NACoA has requests to serve populations in French, Italian, Vietnamese, and Swedish.

Annually, NACoA seeks outcomes oversight and program evaluation to help communities seek grant funding for some of our most effective, evidence-based programs.

NACoA has partnered with PTAAC (Police, Treatment, and Community Collaborative) to create informational videos about children impacted by addiction for police departments across the country to be better informed on deflection calls or during drug arrests.  The premiere time to present 10-minute content videos for police departments is during role call.

In spring 2024, NACoA plans to host a child and family prevention conference to inform professionals about COA’s, breaking the cycle of addiction with children and families, and the latest elements of effective prevention.

Whole-family recovery programing for the general community, Spanish-speaking families, and our indigenous communities, provides a huge opportunity for children and families to receive the support and services they need to heal and living healthier lives. supports implementation of our 16 module curriculum focused on creating and building healthy families broken and impacted by addiction. By providing one training opportunity to a community, children and families are provided opportunities to heal and grow a healthier recovery community.

Supports On-Demand training and implementation for one location of NACoA’s Children’s Program Kit. Using this kit, sites are provided an opportunity to create educational support groups in the schools, workshops to be provided in the community, or enrich an area summer camp designed for children impacted by trauma. With over 100 activities for school aged children K-12, this resource is extremely valuable for communities in need to creating a variety of supportive opportunities for kids and teens.
