Julie Creaden DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC

Julie is the Vice President of Advanced Practice Providers Professional Practice at NorthShore University Health System North Region. Julie received her DNP in Health Systems Leadership at the University of Colorado. She received her post graduate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certificate from Rush University. She received her MSN from Loyola University and her BSN from Hope College. Her Doctoral project focused on “Improving Advanced Practice Provider (APP) satisfaction through implementation of a Professional Advancement Model (PAM) to reward and recognize professional growth and contributions”. Julie spent the first 33 years of her career at Children’s Memorial Hospital until it became Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She worked as an RN in the PICU, until she became a Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiac ICU. This work led her to administration where she became the first leader of APN/PAs while maintaining a clinical practice in Cardiology managing the Home Surveillance Monitoring program for single ventricle patients. As the Advanced Practice provider group grew to over 300 Julie was promoted to ACNO APPs before she was recruited to NorthShore to create and develop a leadership structure for Advanced Practice Providers across the system.

Julie’s passion and drive for Advanced Practice have always come from advocating for the professional growth and development of the APPs she serves.

Julie is the proud mother of 2 daughters, Madi is a travel nurse and currently lives with her husband in New Hampshire, Reilly is a marketing agent and DIY enthusiast living in Oakbrook Illinois with her husband. Julie and her husband Gavin of 29 years a Math Specialist focused on curriculum development for Chicago Public Schools are active in all outdoor activities, yoga lovers and the new parents of Oakley an Australian Shepard puppy who joins her older sister Copper in all the family activities.
