Celebrating Families! Group Leader Online Training
NACoA has received many requests to train additional staff to be group leaders for Celebrating Families! -a whole family, evidence-based, trauma-informed recovery program- without needing to schedule a training for the site. Organizations can now strengthen existing programs by sending individual facilitators to January’s online national group leader training. Attendees will become much more familiar with the curriculum, learn program essentials, and participate in a number of the program activities over this three day training event.
Cost per person $550. Price does not include curriculum, which will be needed throughout the training.

Opioid Addiction to Young Children

NACoA Sr. Clinical Advisor Jerry Moe, MA, MAC and Chair Emerita Sis Wenger worked with Sesame Street a few years ago on the parental addiction initiative to help children make sense of the trauma related to familial addiction. The resources provide valuable language to caring adults so they can feel less awkward and more empowered when discussing the disease of addiction with young children. On December 4th, NPR spotlighted the importance of this initiative, its resources, and darling Karli, the sweet Muppet who courageously shares her feelings and challenges with her mother’s addiction and early recovery.
