Topic: Being a Child, What It Feels Like and How It Impacts Us

Join NACoA and host Colleen Perry for this monthly meeting ideally suited for adult children who have been impacted by addiction looking for education and support through an online facilitated group. Each meeting will feature an expert presenting on important topics facing adults nurturing their own resilience, followed by an opportunity for attendees to speak freely. 

APRIL SPEAKER: NACoA Director of Children’s Programs Peggy McGillicuddy MEd, CTSS

Peggy McGillicuddy has worked in the field of mental health/addiction for over 25 years. With a focus on group facilitation, children’s program development and service delivery, Peggy brings clinical and administrative skills as well as passion and advocacy to her work to create healthy children.

HOST: Colleen Perry

Colleen Perry is an advocate for those who grew up around alcohol dependence. After her mother died due to complications tied to her addiction,  Colleen decided she no longer could stay silent. She started sharing her story with the Instagram community through the handle impactedbyalcoholism. It is her goal to tell her story in a way that holds space for those who grew up in homes where alcohol and substance misuse and addiction was present, while striving to understand the factors that contribute to the disease in families and our communities.
