Michal Cantor

Michal Cantor, Esq., is Counsel at Nixon Peabody, and she is based in Melville, New York. Michal represents individuals and entities facing government investigations and also guides clients through regulatory compliance issues, particularly in the healthcare space. She has also conducted external, independent investigations on behalf of government agencies and institutional clients. A subset of her practice is focused on conducting investigations of abuse of children and vulnerable individuals. This includes representing victims who are coming forward to report their mistreatment.

At Nixon Peabody, Michal serves as the lead for the Long Island Women’s Resource Group, and she previously served on the firmwide Mental Health & Wellbeing Committee. Michal is also a recipient of the firm’s pro bono award for outstanding service.

Michal earned a juris doctor from Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Hofstra University and a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Hofstra University.

Michal was selected as a 2023 Rising Star: 40 & Under, RitchnerLIVE and Herald Community Top Lawyer Awards. She was recently featured in the 2023 Edition of Long Island Business News Who’s Who in Healthcare Professionals & Healthcare Law. Michal was also recognized among the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Health Care Law in 2023, and she has been listed since 2021.
